Helios Film Festival Announces Cincinnati as Location for October 9-11, 2015 Three-Day Movie Lovers Event
Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) June 25, 2015 -- Actor/Director and Helios Film Festival Co-Director Michael Loos announced this week that the annual Helios Film Festival will be held at the Holiday Inn and Suites, Eastgate, in Cincinnati, OH. This premier location will be the first film festival location which offers lodging, food and all film festival activities in one convenient location. Not only is it a 20-minute drive to downtown Cincinnati, but it is located within minutes of the I-275 beltway around the Cincinnati area and less than an hour from the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky airport.
“The focus of our film festival is to bring independent films out of the darkness and illuminate the talent and professionalism that they contain,” said actor/director and film festival co-director, Michael Loos. “We are pleased to be partnering with such a convenient facility right here in the Queen City. To my knowledge every other festival requires traveling from one location to another. This gives us the opportunity to showcase more movies, host more events, panels and discussions and offer attendees and actors, movie lovers and vendors the chance to make connections. For those traveling in from other cities, it is a big plus.”
The Helios Film Festival l has launched their web site, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep everyone informed of all the updates. The panels have been geared to any movie lovers, from those interested in acting, managing, staffing the crew, writing or directing. Even those who are interested in film distribution and cinematography will find a panel discussion for them. Women in Film will be attending and hosting a panel discussion. Other panel guests will be announced as the festival date grows closer.
Among the well-known attendees participating on panels will be actor/writer Pepper Sweeney with 25 years and appearances on 30 TV programs, plus he has lent his voice to hundreds of films including Disney’s Frozen. Barry Papick, actor/writer/acting coach, with more than 20 major films, 20 stage plays and dozens of TV series. Other actors, directors, stage professionals and industry leaders will be hosting discussion panels.
Completed films are currently being accepted through August 22, 2015. The categories and submission information are on the web site. A Film Poster Contest is included in the submission of your films and will be judged independently.
Another exciting aspect of the Helios Film Festival is the opportunity for would-be actors to compete in a Monologue Competition. There is one slated for both adults and youth, in what could be the most important 2-minutes of a career.
Vendors catering to the industry will offer their items for sale to the attendees in the convention center, providing yet another way to sharpen movie-making skills. For vendors who are interested in attending, there is a sign up tab on the web site.
Helios is seeking sponsors to headline the event, ranging from $100 to $10,000 as the main-named sponsor. Michael Loos can be contacted through the web site to discuss these outstanding opportunities.
Hosting this incredible, crowd-pleasing event in the Cincinnati area, and in fact, in Clermont County, is a boost to the local economy. Mark Calitri, President of the Clermont County Visitors Bureau said, “Clermont County offers so much to those visiting. We have our own great restaurants, lodging and visitor activities, plus easy access to so much of the Queen City within just a short distance. This is a gem of a city and people attending the Helios Film Festival should make time to spend a few extra days just exploring Clermont County.”
