Helmer Scientific Launches Next Generation UltraCW® II Automatic Cell Washer
(PRWEB) February 15, 2018 -- Helmer Scientific, a leading supplier of temperature controlled laboratory storage and processing equipment, has announced the release of their next generation automatic cell washing system, the UltraCWII, for hospital blood banks and clinical labs.
The UltraCW II automates steps within typical tube testing blood bank workflows. Tube testing is considered a gold standard method for ABO and Rh grouping, antibody identification and cross-matching. The UltraCW II removes plasma and unwanted antibodies from blood cells for these pre-transfusion testing procedures; these screening tests are critical to avoid dangerous adverse effects that may be associated with transfusions.
The new UltraCW® II automatic cell washer is designed for precise, consistent, and reproducible blood cell washing results. The system also improves the user experience through the incorporation of a full-color touchscreen for intuitive and easy-to-use programming and operation. The UltraCW® II incorporates an electronic flow meter for precise saline fills required for reliable results. In addition, the system also uses a powerful diaphragm pump that allows the saline supply to be located either above or below and is directly connected to the cell washer, eliminating common installation challenges and inconvenient saline transfer steps for blood bank personnel.
