Hendricks Commercial Properties Selected for Mass Ave Project
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) June 02, 2016 -- Hendricks Commercial Properties (HCP) has been selected by The Indianapolis Public School Board to redevelop the former Coca-Cola bottling plant, which is on downtown Indianapolis’ renowned arts and entertainment capital, Massachusetts Avenue. This marque project calls for a transformative $260 million mixed-use development of over 1 million sq. ft. on 11 acres of prime urban core real estate.
The proposed development will be anchored by a boutique hotel, dynamic street-level retail/shops, a combination of residential units (apartments, condos and townhouses), entertainment options, creative office spaces, educational facilities, and structured parking facilities.
In 2012 Hendricks entered the Indianapolis Market to build the $30+ million Ironworks at Keystone apartment and retail project on another of the city’s most active intersections at the southwest corner of East 86th Street and Keystone Avenue. As a result, Hendricks has received several awards, including the NAIOP-Indiana Best Mixed-Used Development of 2014; Indy Chamber’s, the best “Neighborhood Revitalization” Award of 2015; and Indy Chamber’s the best “Real Estate Development” Award of 2015 to name a few. HCP now has more than $100 million dollars’ worth of recent real estate investment in the market, including a new boutique hotel and retail combination project adjacent to their Keystone Avenue project.
HCP is committed to playing an active role in the city’s future and to furthering the downtown and its local businesses as a destination to live, work, and play. Given that Hendricks has a strong familiarity with historic preservation and the market, they are in a great position to grow and build on this premier location and some of the area’s most prominent and iconic buildings.
“We have a long-term ownership outlook and are highly selective when it comes to the projects we pursue. Quality is a cornerstone to everything we build and do. We feel there is a tremendous amount of opportunity to build and grow on the downtown area with the best retailers, restaurants, daytime shopping, and entertainment options along Mass. Ave.,” said Rob Gerbitz, CEO & President of Hendricks Commercial Properties.
Hendricks also understands the importance of inclusivity and diversity, and has assembled and will continue to assemble the best qualified and most diverse team of locally based architects, engineers, consultants, and builders.
