Professor Sean Grier has an extensive background, including over twenty-three years of professional law enforcement experience. He began his career on active duty with the U.S. Army Military Police and later transitioned to a position as a uniformed Police Officer in the Washington, D.C. area. He then accepted a position as a Special Agent with the Defense Security Service, headquartered out of the Pentagon, where he witnessed the horrific attacks on 9/11. Grier is currently employed as a Supervisory Federal Air Marshal. He earned his M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati, as well as a M.Div. and M.A. from Liberty Theological Seminary. Professor Grier is also currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Nova Southeastern University, where he will soon be conducting research to complete the dissertation phase of the degree.
Nominations made by both students and members of Henley-Putnam University’s Academic Affairs Team determine the annual recipient of the Faculty Excellence Award.
