Herzing College – Toronto Now Offering New Social Media Coordinator Program
(PRWEB) June 15, 2015 -- Herzing College – Toronto is pleased to announce the addition of a Social Media Coordinator diploma program. Since 1965, Herzing Toronto has been a leader in specialized career training and offers programs in Business, Healthcare, Legal, Technology, Design, Public Safety and Media.
“We developed this program in conjunction with our Winnipeg campus, which began their first class of students in January, 2015. “We have identified a need in our community, businesses are looking for this type of specialized skill,” says Toronto Campus President, George Hood.
Herzing College has engaged industry experts and local employers to develop a well-rounded and innovative media course. Feedback from local employers about the new program has been extremely positive. “This is an emerging field that requires training and strategic thinking. Formal education in this field is necessary and encouraged,” says Christine Ens, Director of Membership and Marketing for The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.
This 36 week program, which includes internship experience, focuses on communication and online writing skills, traditional and social media marketing, as well as technical components like search engine optimization, web design, video production, and graphic design. Graduates will be prepared for employment opportunities in social media marketing, online marketing and advertising, communications, and online media.
“This course couldn’t be more relevant,” says Regional Director of Education - Ontario, James Cameron, citing a report by Social Media Examiner, which found that 86% of marketers indicate that social media is important for their business.
Herzing Toronto is accepting students now for the new program. The program will be offered at multiple points throughout the year, with the first class starting soon. Students are encouraged to contact Herzing College and make an appointment to see an Admissions Advisor, as it is expected this program will fill up quickly.
