Hexagon Geospatial and BlackSky Global Establish Partnership
Norcross, GA (PRWEB) June 22, 2015 -- Hexagon Geospatial is pleased to announce it has partnered with BlackSky Global in a new content-sharing program that will bring together both satellite imagery and software for use in the development of Hexagon Smart M.Apps.
BlackSky Global is a new “satellite imaging as a service” provider that offers high-resolution satellite images at an unparalleled cost and frequency. Aimed at businesses, organizations and governments that cannot or do not wish to capitalize their own satellite constellations, the company plans to deploy six imaging satellites in 2016 and a 60-satellite imaging constellation by 2019 to provide a near real-time view of the Earth.
As part of the Hexagon Content Program, the new partnership will combine BlackSky Global’s imagery with Hexagon Geospatial’s technology. The combined solution will fuel the creation of Hexagon Smart M.Apps, providing end users with insightful and powerful ways of transforming data into useful information.
“Hexagon Geospatial is taking a leadership position with its Content Program by enabling customers to dramatically reduce the time and simplify the effort to integrate disparate datasets necessary for robust analytics,” said Jim Beckley, Vice President of Sales & Business Development at BlackSky Global. “By teaming with Hexagon Geospatial, our Satellite Imagery as a Service offers high resolution, high revisit imagery that can be easily integrated into and accessible from Hexagon Smart M Apps, enabling customers to solve their unique business problems.”
“As the Hexagon Content Program evolves, we will continue to seek out partnerships that provide unified solutions for accessing the right data faster for more effective decision-making,” said Mladen Stojic, president of Hexagon Geospatial. “Our new partnership with BlackSky Global reinforces how we are leveraging opportunities with some of the newest and most dynamic providers of imagery and content.”
