Poulsbo, WA (PRWEB) September 17, 2015 -- There’s a new bus in Poulsbo, and it’s like nothing we’ve ever seen here before. The City of Poulsbo, in collaboration with Kitsap Transit, and with a generous creative donation from The Rockfish Group, has dressed up old bus #44 to highlight local landmarks. Cartoonish characters ‘ride’ the bus, including a college student, an octopus, a farmer, a troll, and, of course, a Viking.
“This bus route is a fairly new one,” explains Mayor Becky Erickson. “And it has a unique route. In fact, it loops through the major parts of town in 30 minutes, making it a perfect hop-on, hop-off choice for locals and visitors. That’s why we’ve dubbed it The Poulsbo Loop—or, The P’bo Loop, if you prefer.”
The Loop includes the historic downtown and Port, Highway 305 stops, then College Hill and Viking Avenue, returning to the waterfront. The characters and features of the bus showcase landmarks along the route.
For details of the stops, check out Kitsap Transit’s website: http://www.kitsaptransit.com/service/routed-buses/44-poulsbo-central Or, look for the special stickers that will start to show up, indicating which bus stops are part of The P’bo Loop.
“One of the charms of living in a small town is that everything is close by,” says Mayor Erickson. “However, it’s not so close that you can walk everywhere! Sometimes, when I’m running errands, it feels like I spend half the time driving a short distance, parking, and getting in and out of my car. I think most Poulsbo residents have the same experience.
But now, you can leave your car at home—or use a park-and-ride or other public lot—then shop, run errands, meet a friend for lunch, stop off at your doctor’s office, all without using your car…just by hoping on and off The Poulsbo Loop.
“And you know it will come by to pick you up again in just 30 short minutes. It’s one more thing that makes Poulsbo special.”
