Higdon Insurance Group Teams with the Service Dogs Alabama Organization in Huntsville Charity Drive to Benefit Gulf War Veterans
Guntersville, AL (PRWEB) September 27, 2017 -- Higdon Insurance Group, a Huntsville area firm offering insurance and financial preparation services to families and entrepreneurs in the northern Alabama region, is inaugurating an extended charity drive in conjunction with Service Dogs Alabama to provide services to disabled veterans.
The Service Dogs Alabama organization rescues and trains canines to act as companions to veterans with a wide range of disabilities. These dogs provide not only companionship, but can be trained to detect seizures, offer assistance getting into and out of wheelchairs, and are highly effective at managing the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder.
“This charity event improves our community in two ways: by helping local veterans who are in need of assistance and companionship, as well as by rescuing canines that might otherwise face euthanasia,” says Michael Higdon senior agency and executive director of Higdon Insurance Group.
