High Point Spring: Refreshed Christopher Guy Showroom to Highlight Creative Links with Élite London Hat Designer
High Point, NC (PRWEB) April 08, 2015 -- Global luxury furnishings brand Christopher Guy will host a special event featuring the auction of a hat created by élite London-based designer Philip Treacy from 3:00 to 6:00pm on Sunday, April 19th, as part of High Point Spring Market 2015 (April 18-23) at Christopher Guy’s newly refreshed showroom in the Swaim Design Center, 418 South Wrenn Street, High Point, NC 27260.
The hat designed by Irish-born Philip Treacy—whose haute couture creations have graced Hollywood celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker, Elizabeth Hurley, Grace Jones, Lady Gaga and Madonna—will be auctioned to benefit Women to Women, which provides grants to charitable and volunteer organizations in the Greensboro, NC area helping women and families.
Honored by the Queen, Philip Treacy’s designs—some worn by members of the Royal Family—have become known for their elegance and luxuriousness. He and Christopher Guy’s visionary founder, chief designer and CEO, Christopher Guy Harrison, have inspired designs by each other, and the auction event will recognize and celebrate these global creative links.
Philip Treacy has said, “I make hats because I love hats. It's an enigmatic object that serves the human purpose only of beautification and embellishment, and making one feel good, whether you’re the observer of the spectacle or the wearer.”
Looking ahead to the April 19th special event at the Christopher Guy High Point showroom, Christopher Guy Harrison said, “Philip is an inspiration to us all. Since his designs first appeared, they have thrown out the rule book and created a sensation. I cannot imagine a more natural connection for our own global brand, and we are delighted that his creativity will benefit the excellent work fostered locally by Women to Women.”
The Christopher Guy High Point showroom has been recently refreshed, featuring crisp spring colors—breaking the hold of the harsh winter that has gripped the eastern US. Color palettes will include rich naturals, quiet greys, ivory and noir, as well as bright lacquers for the mirrors gallery. A striking new cloud-like headboard image will encompass almost an entire wall. Never previously seen at High Point will be a deep red banquette dining option, as used in Christopher Guy’s recent stunning re-creation of the Georgian Restaurant at London’s iconic Harrods.
We are happy to announce that Belvoir Fruit Farms is the official drink sponsor for this event.
