HighGround Achieves SOC 2 Compliance For Security
CHICAGO (PRWEB) April 25, 2017 -- HighGround, a provider of innovative employee engagement and agile performance management technology, is pleased to announce completion of its Service Organization Control (SOC) Type 2 examination, governed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), which confirms HighGround’s compliance with SOC 2 standards and requirements for security.
Service Organization Control reports are independent, third-party audits that measure how well service and solution providers control information. The criteria analyzed to confirm compliance include evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of the control environment. Achieving SOC 2 compliance gives customers and users an objective note of confidence in the security of the information collected, processed and stored in HighGround’s platform.
As more organizations must house confidential employee information, HR service and solution providers must demonstrate security is a top priority. Achieving Service Organization Control compliance is one of the most highly-regarded ways to validate that commitment.
“With cybersecurity becoming a growing area of concern for enterprise-sized organizations, security and risk management standards are now critical components of the vendor selection process,” said HighGround’s Chief Customer and Technology Officer, Anjoo Rai-Marchant. “Not only has HighGround taken steps to improve our security processes, we’ve implemented significant changes to our platform that better safeguard customer information.”
To achieve SOC 2 compliance, HighGround embarked on an aggressive mission to review data asset and process controls within the organization, a large undertaking for most companies. It recruited talent to specifically focus on these tasks because it wanted to dedicate the right amount of time and resources to the initiative. HighGround minimized cyber risks by implementing more systematic checks-and-balance processes and system security enhancements along with conducting training programs centered around security awareness. In addition, they conducted penetration testing and added new procedures for ongoing vulnerability detection and mitigation.
“This achievement gives our enterprise customers the increased level of confidence they need to run their HR application and people data analytics in the cloud,” said Rai-Marchant. “Achieving SOC 2 compliance is not an easy task, but it demonstrates our commitment to protecting customer information and operating in accordance with the highest security standards.”
