"This is and has been a very grass roots project that was created with passion and will likely continue to be a grass roots outreach in my approach to getting it seen by the masses as I continue to reach out to the birthing communities across the country. My objective with this film is not to tell anyone where or how they should give birth and at no point is the hospital system demonized in my film. But I want to help empower women and give them the information that mainstream media and their doctors within the US medical system fail to tell them," said Jacqui. "That was my intention with this film because every time I turn on the television to watch anything about pregnancy and childbirth, it's always full of fear tactics and is not realistic for the average woman. So instead of waiting for someone else to make a film about birth the way I wanted to see it, I did it myself. Her debut film, Beautiful Births is educational documentary about the natural process of pregnancy, labor and child birth that is different from the mainstream medical way that most women in America have come to think of as "normal." About Jacqui Blue
Jacqui Blue a is documentary filmmaker, writer, photographer, artist and mother of five sons. Before putting herself through film school, she spent the greater part of the last decade working as a stay at home mom and wife. Having had a Cesarean section with her twins, followed by two very different but successful hospital VBACs, which was then followed by a water birth in a birth center, Jacqui developed a passion for natural birth and fell into "alternative" or "attachment" parenting styles.
