HIMSS Announces Keynote Speakers for the Pop Health Forum in Chicago
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) September 14, 2017 -- HIMSS is pleased to announce that Jay Bhatt, Chief Medical Officer of the American Hospital Association, and Joseph Antos, the Wilson H. Taylor Scholar In Health Care and Retirement Policy at the American Enterprise Institute, will give keynote addresses at the Pop Health Forum (http://www.pophealthforum.com/chicago/2017).
Being held at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel on October 2 – 3, 2017, the forum offers hospitals, healthcare providers and health plan payers valuable insights from nationally recognized population health experts on making the transition from fee-for-service to value-based care.
A former practicing internal medicine physician, Jay Bhatt now serves as President and CEO of the Health Research and Educational Trust of the American Hospital Association. Drawing on his extensive knowledge of population health challenges, policy and data analytics, Bhatt will deliver a keynote entitled “The Challenge and Promise of Population Health.”
Taking a holistic, 360-degree look at population health today, Bhatt will cover how healthcare organizations can overcome the common challenges inherently a part of national attempts to transform healthcare and local efforts to develop healthy communities.
Joseph Antos, who studies Health Care and Retirement Policy at the American Enterprise Institute, conducts research on the economics of health policy, including the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, the uninsured, and the overall reform of the health care system and its financing. He also analyzes the impact of health care expenditures on federal budget policy.
In his keynote, “Population Health and the Healthcare Economy,” Antos will cover the economics of population health during a period of policy and political turmoil. He'll discuss the ACA repeal efforts, how the ACA permanently changed the U.S. healthcare landscape, and how value-based care programs are transforming the way healthcare providers interact with patients.
