HIPOWER SYSTEMS and MTS POWER SYSTEMS Help Restaurant Depot Build In-house Rental Fleet
(PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- HIPOWER SYSTEMS, a manufacturer of power-generation and power distribution equipment worldwide, today announced that one of its distributors, MTS Power Systems, has begun delivery of five 700 kva trailerized HIPOWER generators to Restaurant Depot. The portable generators will form the foundation for the company’s new in-house rental fleet, providing on-demand power for refrigeration and HVAC units in its stores.
“We sold Restaurant Depot its first permanent standby generator in 2009 to cover front-end power, but for heavy-duty power needs like HVAC and refrigeration, we have been renting them portable units as needed,” said MTS Power Systems President Barry Segal. When Restaurant Depot decided to start its own rental fleet, Segal said, MTS recommended HIPOWER generators.
“Restaurant Depot asked for competitive quotes from Kohler and other brands, and we provided them,” said Segal. “But, most machines in that kW node are much larger and in ISO containers. They are much more expensive and don’t offer nearly the options, features and benefits that the HIPOWER unit offers.”
MTS Power Systems became the New York HIPOWER distributor in early 2012, after contacting the company for a towable rental unit. “My rental manager knew about the product, and we had seen them before and liked the quality,” said Segal.” For us, it was a clear choice.”
Restaurant Depot, a nationwide, wholesale cash and carry foodservice supplier, will position its new fleet in various locations around the country, delivering them as needed to stores that require critical, heavy-duty power continuity for maintenance, equipment upgrades, major outages or other multi-day disruptions.
