Hire Our Heroes Launches Job Event with over 500 Jobs for Veterans
Boca Raton, Fl (PRWEB) February 26, 2015 -- Yesterday, Dr. Larry Kawa, in conjunction with Career Showcase Florida, and the Welcome Home Group launched the Broward County Veterans Job Fair (http://www.hireourheroes.net) at the Armory in Ft Lauderdale.
Several hundred veterans were in attendance for the event comprised of brave men and women who have served in the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Air Force.
During the event, veterans first listened to presentations from over 30 large employers regarding programs and jobs specifically suited for and being offered to veterans. Participants of the event then met with the individual representatives of the exhibiting companies regarding their open positions.
“Our veterans are some of the most qualified men and women who combine high level training with battle tested leadership, honor, and courage,” said Dr. Larry Kawa, a Boca Raton orthodontist who is the event’s co-organizer and primary sponsor. “Finding jobs for those who have served our country is privilege and we are proud to work with employers who recognize the value of hiring our heroes who have served our great nation.”
Large employers that partnered with Dr. Kawa for the event to provide more jobs for veterans include: DHL, The GEO Group, G4S, Ft. Lauderdale Police, Wyndham, Norwegian Cruise Line, New York Life, Primerica, AFLAC, National Guard, Florida Highway Patrol, Federal Air Marshall Service, and the US Department of Homeland Security.
Other groups that we will have supporting and sponsoring the event include Chandler Campbelle, and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
While many have asked, Dr. Larry Kawa is not seeking to solicit contributions for his efforts. He requests that anyone who would want to donate to his efforts to assist veterans contribute to Freedom Alliance (http://www.freedomalliance.org).
