HIS Barn Ministry Hosts 6th Annual Men’s Revival
Grand Rapids, Mich. (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- On August 10, 2013, HIS Barn Ministry hosts their 6th annual Men’s Revival from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at 1060 84th Street, Byron Center MI 49315. Registration is free and can be completed in advance on the event website, http://www.barnrevival.org, or onsite before the event begins.
The Revival is unique. It is hosted in a pasture. Outdoors. On lawn chairs. Surrounded by trees, the sky and men, seeking guidance, friendship and growth. This experience is one that is not forgotten.
The teachers, like those men attending, are not perfect and continue to be students of growing in Christ. The line-up of teachers include: Kyle Ray, Senior Pastor of Kentwood Community Church; Brian Molitor, author of many books and videos addressing the raising of young men and young women and a HIS Barn favorite; Pastor Jerry Bishop, founder of Life Quest Ministries of Grand Rapids; and Matt Schantz, founder of His House Ministries on the campus of CMU, and Director of Organizational Development and Learning at National Nail.
“The conversation at this year’s Revival is Fathering. The key to a healthy community and nation is healthy families and that requires healthy fathers and father figures. And therein lies our challenge,” says Scott Baker, founder of HIS Barn Ministries. “Some say an absence of men, more specifically, healthy fathers, is the greatest social challenge we face. Too many children are navigating the temptations and noise of our world without the guidance of healthy, strong father or father figures.”
“I was asked the question, if I am not a dad, why should I come? First, men are called to be a father figure, even in the absence of having their own children. Second, many men did not receive great fathering themselves. These teachings can help address the scars these men carry and help them avoid the errors of their fathers. Third, and most importantly, is the unique opportunity to further grow in Christ or connect with Him for the first time. We will also share opportunities for men to gather with other men on a regular basis to pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, grow as men and grow as dads.”
Please join us for an afternoon of fellowship. We know it will be impactful and perspective changing. As our tag line says, “Bring a chair, bring a journal and bring a friend”. The Revival is recommended for men of high school age and older.
