Historic Boutique Hotel 7 Rooms in Sicily Joins Welcome Beyond
Berlin, Germany (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- 7 Rooms Villadorata is now part of Welcome Beyond, a website promoting only truly memorable holiday destinations worldwide. The small guesthouse lies nestled between honey-coloured eighteenth century houses in the Baroque city of Noto, an architectural gem in the South of Sicily.
The original Baroque apartment used to be Prince Giacomo Nicolaci’s private palazzo. In 2007 owner Cristina decided to turn it into a hotel. She bought the ancient residence in her childhood home town, restored it back to live, and made her dream come true: “I wanted to create a home for our guests, the personal welcome and the personal contact with the guests is very important to me.”
The “7 rooms” are four superior rooms (with 6 metre ceilings, some even with original frescos), two standard rooms and one room for friends and family. “For all of our rooms we have selected the most exclusive Italian and French linens and furnishings in order to make each room not only luxurious and comfortable, but also one-of-a-kind” says Cristina. Each room evokes an individual atmosphere; the balconies offer views of the Church of San Carlo, the Market Lodge or the charming courtyard. Breakfast is served on the huge terrace overlooking picturesque Noto. Guests have the choice of delicious local products like Sicilian cheese or jam from a local farmer.
The city of Noto is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. 45 churches and a noble palace grace the city. The Noto Valley became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2002 and is also the ideal location to explore the South of Sicily: Syracuse, birthplace of Archimedes and famous for its Greek history, architecture and amphitheaters, is only 20 minutes away, UNESCO World Heritage sites Modica and Ragusa about 1 hour. As an alternative to exploring the local art and architecture, Cristina recommends the Vendicari Marine Reserve: “Surrounded by its maritime villages and farmhouses, it is a mixture of lagoons, sand dunes, rocky coastlines and sandy beaches.”
