Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Announces Plans to Build a New State-of-the-Art Facility in Western Australia
(PRWEB) August 22, 2013 -- Hitachi Construction Machinery (Australia) Pty Ltd (HCA) today announces plans to build a new state-of-the-art facility in Western Australia. The Greenfield project in Armadale, Perth is HCA’s most significant investment in key infrastructure to-date, and follows a number of other key investments enabling further national expansion.
HCA officially purchased land in June 2013 at Forrestdale West Business Park, making it the first land owners in this new greenfield site.
Strategically located adjacent to Tonkin Highway, the facility is conveniently accessible to surrounding major industrial areas, including Perth Airport, Fremantle Port and Kwinana.
This land covers an area of approximately 100,000 square meters with an estimated total project expenditure of $100 million once completed.
Managing Director of HCA, David Harvey, said the new facility will further expand the company’s support capabilities.
“The new facility to be built is a strategic investment in our company’s future, and aims to strengthen our ability to deliver the highest level of support to our customers in the Western Australian market as well as further afield,” he said.
The facility will feature a series of specialised buildings incorporating the latest in innovative and environmentally-conscious technologies, similar to those adopted within HCA’s recently constructed Brisbane CSG facility in Wacol, Queensland.
The specialised buildings will include:
• Mining assembly facility for both mining trucks and mining excavators
• Remanufacturing workshop
• Specialised paint booth, wash bay area, caustic wash and soda blast station
• Parts Distribution Centre
• Branch building including a comprehensive machine workshop
• Dedicated training facility
HCA have built a strategic partnership with the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) and Armadale City Council to develop infrastructure in the Forrestdale Business Park. A high level of support has been received from both government authorities in relation to HCA’s investment into the region.
The news of HCA’s move into the area is also gaining much attention within the local community with economic benefits likely due to increased investment by other industries over the next few years.
“We are the first company to commit to this Business Park, which will encourage more industries into this growing industrial area of Armadale,” said Mr Harvey.
Construction is expected to commence in April 2014 with the project scheduled for completion in June 2015.
