Hoague Joins Stanley Consultants as Project Principal
Muscatine, Iowa (PRWEB) February 28, 2015 -- Mark R. Hoague, P.E., has joined Stanley Consultants, a global consulting engineering firm, as a Project Principal in the company’s Federal Business Unit. Based in the company’s Muscatine, Iowa headquarters, he will focus on business development, client relations and project oversight for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Civil Works programs nationwide.
With over three decades of engineering experience with the USACE, Hoague comes with a firsthand understanding of the needs of the Federal clientele. He joined the USACE in 1981 as a structural engineer in the Rock Island District and steadily advanced through the organization until recently retiring as Chief, Engineering Division in the New Orleans District. Throughout his USACE career he acquired a broad range of civil works experience in navigation, flood control, environmental mitigation and restoration, and hurricane risk reduction coupled with extensive experience supporting military initiatives in the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He consistently delivered projects and programs within established budgets, often under extremely difficult delivery schedules under a variety of quality expectations to meet critical USACE missions.
“We’ve known Mark for years and developed a great relationship with him while he was with the USACE. Now that he’s working for Stanley Consultants his in-depth knowledge of the USACE will be invaluable to our business development efforts,” said Michelle French, Federal Practice Leader for Stanley Consultants. “He understands the needs of the USACE and is perfectly positioned to help us fine tune our client service.”
A licensed professional engineer, Hoague holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville and a master’s degree civil engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a member and past Secretary of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Rock Island Post; past president and member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Quad Cities Section; and an active volunteer with Quad Cities Junior Achievement, Quad Cities Habitat for Humanity, and the Rock Island District Pathfinders Mentoring Program.
In addition to multiple USACE Performance Awards, he has also received the Secretary of Defense Global War on Terror Medal; the Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal from the Army Engineer Association; the Rock Island District Award for Engineering Excellence; and the Young Engineer of the Year and Engineer of the Year awards from the Quad City Engineering Science Council.
“I am excited to join Stanley Consultants after a rewarding 33-year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Throughout those years, whether in the U.S. or overseas, I frequently worked with Stanley Consultants to complete a wide range of engineering, construction, and program management assignments. Each time Stanley Consultants delivered a quality product and was a pleasure to have on the USACE Team. I hope to use my experience and knowledge to continue that excellent relationship with USACE and its stakeholders and customers.”
Stanley Consultants has been working in the Federal market since the 1950s, providing quality professional services to various federal agencies including the Department of Defense (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Various Air Force Bases, and National Guard Bureau), Homeland Security (Coast Guard), Department of Energy, and Department of Agriculture.
