Hold Brothers Receives FINRA Membership
New York, NY (PRWEB) August 26, 2016 -- Hold Brothers Capital has received membership acceptance by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
FINRA is the largest self-regulatory organization in the securities industry in the United States, and is responsible for creating and enforcing rules for its members based on federal securities laws. FINRA works alongside the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The FINRA membership application process requires documentation of business plans and procedures to be submitted for review. Candidate firms must meet the criteria under the 14 standards for admission set forth in NASD Rule 1014, as well as attend membership interviews with FINRA staff.
The vast majority of FINRA membership applicants are startup broker dealers. Hold Brothers’ application was unusual because the company was fully operational as a broker dealer with the Chicago Board of Options Exchange (CBOE) and had the rare and complex operational status of self clearing its trades, during the application period. FINRA had the opportunity to inspect a complex, fully functioning operation, not a theoretical one, through staff interviews, inspections of procedures, reviews of regulatory history, and analysis of operations.
