Holly Williams to Open White’s Mercantile in Wilson, Arkansas
WILSON, Ark. (PRWEB) April 18, 2017 -- Holly Williams, critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter, retail entrepreneur and owner of White’s Mercantile, has chosen Wilson, Arkansas, for her third retail location.
Slated for an early May opening, Wilson will officially become home to the first White’s Mercantile outside of greater Nashville, which currently has stores in Nashville’s 12South neighborhood and Historic Downtown Franklin. Williams was attracted to Wilson’s small town charm and stunning scenery, and is thrilled to bring the modern-day general store to the town of Wilson.
“Beautiful cotton fields, incredible food and close proximity to Memphis make this a perfect day trip destination and an ideal next location for White’s Mercantile,” Williams said. “I am so excited to bring our modern-day general store to Wilson for a grand opening in May.”
Named after her maternal grandparents, Warren and June White, Williams personally curates every single item in the store, each carrying a special meaning for her. Williams adds to this personal touch with handwritten notes affixed to selected products describing its meaning to Williams and her family. According to Wilson Mayor Becton Bell, the deep personal connection and story conveyed through White’s Mercantile’s products makes it a perfect addition to Wilson’s town square.
“The personal stories in our town make us a unique attraction on Highway 61,” Bell said. “We believe that the addition of White’s Mercantile to our town will help share the history and story of Wilson.”
The addition of White’s Mercantile will provide the town with a destination retail option, appealing to both locals and tourists passing through nearby Memphis. The Wilson store will serve as a way for locals and visitors to discover unique treasures native to the region, and will feature items such as handcrafted caramels from Memphis, cutting boards and a market/food section, doggy beds and treats, Filson watches for him alongside Los Poblanos cosmetics for her and custom Wilson drinking glasses.
White’s Mercantile isn’t Williams’ first successful business venture. In 2007, she opened what is now one of Nashville’s most popular clothing boutiques, H. Audrey, to showcase her favorite designers and curated collection of pieces that showcase her personal style. This entrepreneurial spirit embodies the progressive approach the town of Wilson has taken to build a new model of sustainable community.
"As a business-savvy woman, Holly's approach is the perfect complement to what we're looking to accomplish in Wilson over the next decade," Bell said. "Part of building a sustainable community is supporting locally owned businesses, like White's Mercantile."
