Holocaust March of Remembrance Houston Announces Scholarship Winners
Houston, TX (PRWEB) December 15, 2015 -- Each year, the Leizer and Rose Horowitz March of Remembrance Scholarships are awarded to students of all ages enrolled in high school, college, vocational or continuing education programs who participate in a March in the greater Houston area, including Galveston and Brenham, and help to educate a generation that is many times unaware of the reality of the horrors of the Holocaust.
Winners are selected based on their completion of a set of criteria that furthers education and understanding of the heart issues related to the Holocaust. “Participants hear the first-hand experiences of those who lived through the horrors”, said Chris Ege, March of Remembrance National Committee. “It’s not just reading a story in a book, it’s understanding the reality of what happened.”
In recognizing the leadership and commitment of these students to do their part to stop current, and prevent future atrocities, the March of Remembrance Houston awarded $7,500 in scholarships this year, along with two stipends.
