Home and Lifestyle Boutique in North Portland Goes Digital
(PRWEB) October 18, 2017 -- Oregon art teacher Karen McClelland, who opened a home and lifestyle boutique in North Portland in September of 2016, announces Mantel has launched an online shopping experience.
The online store features a collection of handmade items similar to those found in the store, highlighting primarily regional artists with a modern aesthetic. Online inventory includes pottery, letterpress, hand printed pillows and textiles, locally made jewelry, books, edibles, handbags, carefully chosen vintage items, and more.
After teaching in Portland Public Schools for over 10 years, McClelland made the leap into retail when she opened Mantel last year. “I’m thrilled with the success of the store in my beloved area of Kenton,” says McClelland. “But what really struck me is how many people from all over the country- and the world- have stopped in to shop. Due to that demand, we’ve decided to open this online store so even more people can enjoy the items you find in the store. I know we’ll soon be shipping all over the world.”
McClelland is determined to remain true to her desire to share beautiful artwork and carefully curated goods with her shoppers, while helping artists and students develop their talent. “I’m simply blown away by the items in the store,” says McClelland. “Every day I wander through the store like my own personal art gallery, and to watch shoppers do the same thing has brought me so much joy. Now to know they can do that from the comfort of their own homes, no matter where they live, makes the whole idea of where we started come full circle.”
