HomeAdvisor Announces Homeowners’ Biggest Fears
Golden, CO (PRWEB) October 25, 2013 -- According to a recent online survey* conducted among more than 1,300 homeowners by Harris Interactive on behalf of HomeAdvisor in August 2013, homeowners’ biggest fear when it comes to home improvement projects is unexpected emergency repairs (25%). HomeAdvisor provides data on homeowners’ biggest fears and explains how homeowners can prepare their house for these ghoulish mishaps.
“Completing annual inspections on the home’s exterior and interior can prevent large unexpected repairs, such as having to replace major appliances,” HomeAdvisor’s CEO Chris Terrill said. “Small tasks, including fixing broken windows and repairing roof shingles prior to a thunderstorm, help homeowners avoid larger problems, such as water leaking into the house.”
HomeAdvisor shares the top fears for homeowners when it comes to their home and home improvement projects:
• Storm Damage: Almost half (44%) of homeowners list storm damage as one of their biggest fears when it comes to their home.
• Theft and Robbery: More than a third (36%) of homeowners list theft/robbery as one of their biggest fears when it comes to their home.
• Insect Infestation: Almost a third (32%) of homeowners list insect infestation as one of their biggest fears when it comes to their home.
• Zombies, Ghosts and Hauntings: Five percent of homeowners list ghosts, hauntings and the zombie apocalypse as some of their biggest fears when it comes to their home.
