Homeschool Veteran Emma Right, Author of Young Adult Fiction, Announces the Factors Contributing to Successful Homeschooling and Excellence in Home Education
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- Emma Right, homeschool veteran and author of young adult books, provided sound advise to new and young mothers thinking of homeschooling in a homeschool fair in Northern California. Ms. Right has been homeschooling her five children for eighteen years and has witnessed the ups and downs of home education. She draws from both her personal experiences as well as research of hundreds of homeschool curriculum and methods that suit different personality learning types.
Several factors affect the homeschooling method chosen to maximize a child’s learning potential and ensure a student’s success. This could vary and include the following: the student’s learning style, the parent/ teacher’s teaching style and personality, the number of children a parent has to handle at any given instruction time, the grade levels involved and a parent’s resources, which include both money and time. For more information read the complete article on Emma Right’s site. Visitors to the site can also find other homeschool related tips and ideas to make homeschooling more affordable and still maintain a high quality of education.
Ms. Right, whose eldest son is graduating with straight A’s with a Bachelor’s in Business, after completing his homeschool career, feels that homeschooling allows students to excel in a safe and loving environment. Ms. Right stated that, home education should not be a cop out and allow parents to use it as a platform to have unpaid household help by way of their children. She stated, “Sure, children should learn life skills such as cooking and cleaning but this should be in addition to the rigors of academic and extra curricula activities that are demanded of each student, and should not be used to replace scholarly instruction.”
A thorough education prepares young people to succeed in a competitive world and parents have a responsibility to ensure that regardless of their religious faith or affiliations the children’s mental and educational health is not compromised and skewed because of the parent’s agenda. At the end of the day, as a Bible believing Christian, Ms. Right believes that a child is a merely on loan from God and Christian parents should be hard pressed to ensure that each child will grow up as a whole person, complete and contributing to society, for how else would they be a witness of the faith?
At the end of the day, a child grows up to be an adult and hopefully the homeschooling parent has equipped the student to be a model citizen and, given the opportunities in homeschooling, has prepared the student to take on the challenges in life. Perhaps even help others overcome the demands of life.
Emma Right is also a children’s author with the series, Keeper of Reign, a Middle Grade/ Young Adult adventure fantasy and the young adult psychological thriller, Dead Dreams, to her name. The Pacific Book Review stated, “Keeper of Reign is a book in the rich tradition of fantasy novels like Lord of the Rings. The Midwest Book Review had this to say about 'Dead Dreams': "intricate twists and turns of psychological suspense that are such a strong part of the events driving Dead Dreams."
