HomeThangs.com Has Introduced A Simple Guide To Understanding Bidets
(PRWEB) January 23, 2014 -- HomeThangs.com – the Online Home Improvement Store has made their goal to deliver the right product to the consumer. With that in mind, shopping and home design tips, as well as special product selections are being introduced.
Bidets have gained a lot of popularity in the US in the last few years, but while they're fairly ubiquitous elsewhere in the world, here they’re still far from common. But while using toilet paper is the norm in America, the gentle warm-water rinse of a bidet is considered more hygienic in many other countries. For those who don’t know about the benefits of bidets, or even what one is, HomeThangs.com has released a simple introduction to this unique bathroom fixture.
Traditionally, a bidet is a fixture about the size and shape of a toilet that’s installed alongside the toilet and meant to be used to wash after using the toilet. Really, bidets are more like washbasins than toilets: instead of having a tank, bidets have small handles or a faucet and no lid or conventional seat, and produce a stream of water, either vertically from inside the basin, or a downward angled stream from the faucet. These water gets are designed to rinse the privates and rear of a person sitting on the rim.
Bidets are able to clean the buttocks and privates more thoroughly than toilet paper alone, and also do so much more gently, which can help prevent irritation, especially for those with hemorrhoids. Regular use of a bidet can help improve female hygiene, even preventing yeast infections and relieving menstrual pain. And for those with limited mobility - including the disabled or elderly - using a bidet can improve personal hygiene when traditional bathing is prohibitively difficult.
While traditional bidets are installed as an entirely separate fixture from the toilet, these days it's becoming more common for bidet functionality to be integrated directly into the toilet. Standalone bidets are still available, of course, but luxury, high-tech toilets and toilet seats are beginning to include gentle built in sprayers that do the same job without taking up any extra space. They also come with a whole host of other convenient features, including heated toilet seats, night lights, remote control functionality, and warm air driers that make the whole system much more comfortable and convenient to use.
High tech toilets and toilet seats that include bidet functionality have retractable, adjustable, sometimes oscillating sprayer wands that can be activated by remote control (or sometimes controls on the side of the toilet) and adjusted in terms of direction, intensity, and temperature of the spray. This is followed by a warm air drier (like a heated hand drier) which thoroughly dries any moisture that remains after using the bidet. The whole process is totally hands-free and takes place entirely while sitting on the toilet after use.
The easiest way to give a bidet a try is to replace an existing toilet seat with a high tech toilet seat. Not all of them will work with every toilet, so make sure to find one that will work with the existing toilet. Then, remove the old seat and bolt the new one in place as with any standard seat. The catch is, these toilet seats will need to be hooked up to the toilet’s water supply and, in some cases, plugged into a nearby outlet as well. This is perhaps the biggest drawback of "tech" style bidets - they often have cords or tubes coming out of them, unlike traditional bidets. That said, they not only wash, dry, and self-heat – some of them even open and close themselves.
