Hondros College of Business presents the James Dwyer Memorial Scholarship
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- The James Dwyer Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship honoring James Dwyer, known for his friendly and inspiring demeanor throughout his work at Hondros College.
Dwyer’s commitment to education and the real estate industry is honored by assisting an individual who has the same passions for educational excellence in the real estate area. The scholarship is awarded to a student who is looking to obtain a full-time, professional career in the real estate industry.
The scholarship covers pre-licensure real estate courses as required by the state of Ohio, course required textbooks, the Sales Review Crammer Course and the Real Estate Sales 10-hour Post-Licensure course. Each course covered by the scholarship must be completed within one-year of the award recipient’s first day of class.
The scholarship required applicants to meet the qualifications for licensure, a one-page typed essay addressing the desire to become a professional within the real estate industry, two letters of recommendation and a signed commitment form. The commitment form confirmed that after the applicant is licensed, they intend to be an active real estate professional.
Tina Lapp, President of Hondros College of Business, along with a small team of Hondros College of Business reviewers have been processing 28 applications. After narrowing the list down to 10, the review team has selected Brandy Brady to be the 2013 recipient of the James Dwyer Memorial Scholarship.
Brandy exudes optimism, charisma and ambition, and as a single parent she impressively put herself through college, earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. She was able to pursue a career in a non-profit housing rehabilitation organization, where her love for real estate developed. Her passion and knowledge of real estate has made her a standout for the James Dwyer Memorial Scholarship.
“We are thrilled that Brandy is the recipient of the scholarship,” explains Lapp. “This is an opportunity to encourage students to continue their passion for learning, and the scholarship honoring James Dwyer is a great way to remember him.”
Being a member of the faculty for over 15 years, Dwyer transcended his attitude into his teaching style, making him a role model for the college and entire real estate industry. He was a true professional and greatly admired by his colleagues and students.
