Hope Family Wines Introduces Treana Chardonnay
Paso Robles, CA (PRWEB) March 04, 2015 -- Hope Family Wines is proud to announce the addition of the 2013 Treana Chardonnay to its lauded portfolio of wines. Comprised exclusively of Chardonnay grapes grown on vineyard sites in Monterey and Santa Barbara counties, the launch marks the first single varietal wine produced by Treana winery.
“Chardonnay gets a bad rep and we wanted to create a high quality wine that would change that perception,” says Austin Hope, president of Hope Family Wines. “We focus on producing wines that represent the best aspects of the Central Coast and the Treana Chardonnay is the perfect complement to our original Treana blends.”
The grapes for the inaugural vintage were grown in Monterey and Santa Barbara, which were chosen for the limestone-rich soil and cooler climates. After harvest, the chardonnay was barrel-aged sur lie for 12 months in 70% French oak barrels and 30% stainless steel tanks, resulting in a rich, creamy texture. The 2013 Treana Chardonnay features a pale straw color and is accompanied by soft aromas of white peach and caramel. Flavors of marzipan, grilled pineapple and bright citrus culminate in a full-bodied Chardonnay with bracing acidity for a perfectly balanced wine that pays tribute to signature Central Coast qualities.
Treana Winery was established in Paso Robles in 1996 with a goal to produce wines that exemplify the regional character of California’s Central Coast. The Treana wines feature the Hope family’s signature blends of Rhône varietals that flourish in the Central Coast. In addition to Treana Chardonnay, the winery produces two signature wines: Treana Red and Treana White. Treana Red is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, and Treana White is a blend of Viognier and Marsanne.
