Horse Sentenced To Death For Being Small, Rescued By Coastal Dental Group - Dr. Joseph Zicchino's Office, Horse Now Has Clean Bill Of Health
Point Pleasant, NJ (PRWEB) April 17, 2017 -- A patient at Coastal Dental came to Dr. Joseph Zicchino's office and asked for a donation toward a horse she was trying to rescue. The office donated $300.00 at first. Dr. Zicchino and his Office Manager quickly fell in love with the horse and stayed in close contact with the patient about Epic (the previously nameless female horse was named Epic).
Epic had been sentenced to death for no other reason than that she is a small horse, too small to work or to ride. Industrialized horse slaughter at feed lots typically starts with purchasing horses at local auctions, then transporting the horses to a feedlot where the horses are crowded, given insufficient food and water and treated cruelly. Next is shipment to a slaughter plant, where the horses continue to be treated badly and are finally killed for meat.

Dr. Joseph Zicchino's Office at Coastal Dental Group rescued Epic from a feed lot in Carolina. It was a struggle to bring Epic to New Jersey. She could not be picked up until she had an extra dose of antibiotics before mixing her with other horses. Dr. Joseph Zicchino's Office persevered and did not give up. Their minds were focused; they didn't care what they had to do, Epic was (and is) their baby girl and Epic was going to New Jersey. Dr. Joseph Zicchino's Office at Coastal Dental Group was willing to go to any extreme to save Epic and they got it done. Epic is thriving in New Jersey and just got a clean bill of health.
Dr Zicchino said, "Being a horse is sufficient reason for a healthy horse to live out her natural life."
Today, Epic is alive and well and living in New Jersey.
