Hospice Pharmacy Solutions Supports the Lighthouse of Hope Fund
(PRWEB) March 11, 2015 -- Hospice Pharmacy Solutions (HPS) today announced that they will partner with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the National Hospice Foundation (NHF) to support their Lighthouse of Hope Fund. HPS with the NHPCO and NHF shares a commitment to improve and expand access to care, including hospice and palliative care, with the goal of profoundly enhancing quality of life for people with life-limiting chronic illnesses in America and their loved ones. Through their 2015 reward campaign, HPS pledges to donate $100 to the National Hospice Foundation’s Lighthouse of Hope Fund for any hospice provider that submits a request for a pricing analysis. Support from this effort will be used to further the work of the National Hospice Foundation and its parent organization, the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
"The campaign was so popular last year, we decided to continue it through 2015 and partner with NHPCO and NHF" Says Mike Nault, CEO of HPS. The campaign provides hospices the choice to have the $100 donated to their hospice foundation or the Light House of Hope Fund, with every pricing request submitted throughout the year. NHPCO Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Mastrojohn comments, “We are pleased to have Hospice Pharmacy Solutions as a supporter of the Lighthouse of Hope Fund.” The objective is to bring awareness to the Lighthouse of Hope Fund and additional support to the hospices’ own foundation. Mastrojohn adds, “The Fund will continue to grow and fulfill its goal to provide special wishes to those living with life-limiting illnesses, thanks to the generosity of these NHPCO members.” The Reward Campaign is also providing the hospice valuable information about their pharmacy services. http://www.HospicePharmacySolutions.com
“Pharmacy services for hospices are complex and multi-faceted”, continues Nault “they need to be monitored to ensure compliance and accuracy, as pharmacy services are typically one of the top expenditures for hospices.” Currently, there are over 5300 operational or planned hospice programs in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam. According to the NHPCO an estimated 1.65 million patients were served in 2011. The Light House of Hope Fund seeks to meet end-of-life requests for people living with life-limiting illnesses. The fund offers children and adults with a life-limiting illness the chance to take a break by allowing them to have their wishes and dreams come true. Such dreams – big or small, can help people with life-limiting illnesses improve the quality of their lives in ways medicine alone cannot.
