Hospice Regulations and Medication Management
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) February 19, 2015 -- Hospice Pharmacy Solutions (HPS) announced that Ly Dang, Pharm D and Director of Pharmacy Operations will be presenting across the nation in 2015 on very important topics for hospices. Dr. Dang is currently scheduled to speak in Georgia, Texas and Minnesota. Her first presentation of the year will be February 19th at the Georgia Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, 2015 Annual Leadership and Clinical Conference, Back to the Future – Back to the Basics with an Eye to the Future. The title of her presentation is “Medication Management of Pain, Constipation, Nausea and Anxiety.” She will discuss in detail how to manage these symptoms while staying compliant with Medicare Part D.
The commitment of HPS and Dr. Dang to hospice and palliative care education is apparent in the number of engagements she has confirmed for 2015. “It is my pleasure and honor to be invited to speak. These are valuable opportunities for us to help hospices with all aspects of their pharmacy services and more people with symptom and pain control at the end of life” comments Dr. Dang. She continues, “Mike Nault our CEO and our other Pharmacists also present on a variety of topics to both our hospice partners and the larger provider community.” The invitations Dang gets to speak a year, signifies her expertise and knowledge in the industry. Dang is passionate about partnering with an experienced hospice PBM and how it will increase the time caregivers spend with their patients as well as reduce time administrators spend on pharmacy claims. It will also ensure the necessary information for reporting and compliance for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Dang will also be speaking at The 33rd Annual Texas and New Mexico Hospice Organization Annual Conference, March 28th-30th. Her presentation on “Keeping Up with the Changes in Pharmacy” identifies new regulations related to pharmacy and explores how it affects hospices. Specifically, pharmacy reports, requirements and how it affects the hospice billing and reimbursement process. Her session is expected to be a popular session in light of the CR8358, which requires additional claim data reporting for hospices to support hospice payment reform as authorized by Section 3132(a) of the Affordable Care Act. CR8358 instructs that Medicare hospices will report detailed information on variety components of care including very specific data about pharmacy claims. The reporting requirements mandate the hospice provide much more information about their pharmacy claims than previously necessary.

The title of her presentation is “Lowering Your Pharmacy Cost While Maintaining Compliance is Possible”.
