Hosted by Jimmy Johnson, "Leading Edge" Produces New Segments on Arthritis Awareness
(PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- Arthritis is one of the common diseases that affect the bones, specifically the joints. It is characterized by pain and swellings on the affected parts. Basically, it attacks the knees, finger joints, elbows, and the ankle. This disease was believed to affect mostly the senior population. But recent studies and statistics have shown that it can affect younger populations as well. "Leading Edge", with host Jimmy Johnson, is creating a series of segments to help educate on this condition.
A person suffering from arthritis tends to exhibit a number of signs and symptoms. They find it hard to use their hands. This is attributed to the excruciating pain and stiffness in the joints. There is also an increased loss in body weight.
The "Leading Edge" series will work with physicians and specialists to create content discussing arthritis treatments and medications available for patients. "Leading Edge" will also feature segments that show by adopting a healthy living style, the effects of arthritis can greatly be reduced. This involves observing a good and balanced diet as well as plenty of physical exercises.
By working with industry leaders over the upcoming months, "Leading Edge" will help educate viewing audiences about arthritis and how to cope with it.
This series is distributed to the Public Television Station throughout the United States and is not distributed through PBS.
