"It used to be that backpackers would travel with their laptop computers or use computers provided by the hostels, but today it's more common for them to book hostels from their phone or tablet," according to Orr. "About half of our users access Hostelz.com from phones and tablets, so making the site work well for mobile devices was a primary goal for the new website."
Hostelz.com aggregates ratings and information from major hostel booking websites. Users can see which booking website has the lowest prices and best availability for beds at each hostel for the dates they choose, so they can always get the lowest available rate without having to research hostels on multiple websites. It also provides information on how each hostel is rated on the hostel booking websites, along with reviews and ratings from Hostelz.com's own users. Hostelz.com additionally lists information about independent hostels that are not listed in the major online booking websites and provides direct contact information for all of the hostels.
