Hot off his victory at the Southern Open, Chad Morgenthaler premiers on ProPatterns Exposed

As he prepares for the Classic, Morgenthaler offers tips for taking on challenging conditions: “Especially when you approach a body of water that changes drastically, you have to study and analyze the water and be aware of a couple of different prominent patterns and know that weather always plays a dominant factor in how those patterns change.”
“Researching details pertaining to the body of water is key. You need to be prepared and polished before even getting to practice,” Morgenthaler adds, “so you don’t have to practice your technique. If you do that, you’ll be able to keep your eyes open and be ready for changes, because in tournaments, and even in practice days, time is your biggest enemy.”
A former firefighter, Morgenthaler explains how his previous career has influenced how he approaches the sport: “Having been in charge at fire scenes, I had to make calls at a moment’s notice that could change lives or end them. A career like firefighting has taught me to fish at ease. I still get excited, but firefighting has taught me to deal with the pressure.”
A seasoned angler familiar with Table Rock Lake, the champion brings that knowledge and insight with him to Exposed. “On that second day of practice,” Morgenthaler said about his upcoming episode, “I went up to the White River. I had a good day with numbers, but not size, but that day of practice keyed me in on what was happening on the lake. I had to do a lot of experimenting and eliminate smaller patterns, but I was able to establish a dominant pattern I could take with me into the tournament.”
For those wanting to improve their technique on the water, Morgenthaler has this to say about the series: “What you will learn on a single season of Exposed is like 30 to 40 years of experience gained all at once. Seeing all of those pros work is like putting yourself through medical school in an afternoon.”
