Hotel Caravelle in US Virgin Islands Announces New Manager - Elsie Galloway Retires, Shay Roberts Takes the Helm

St. Croix, US Virgin Islands (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- Hotel Caravelle welcomes Shay Roberts as General Manager of the 43-room ocean front hotel. Roberts steps in for Elsie Galloway, who retired in December 2013. Roberts assumed the role of General Manager on January 1, 2014.

Roberts joins the team from Sugar Beach Condo Resort on St. Croix where she was the Reservation Manager for six years, starting in 2004, then was promoted to General Manager, a position she held for the past four years before joining Hotel Caravelle. Roberts, a graduate of Morgan State University in Maryland where she studied Hospitality Management, recently earned her Master's degree in Hospitality Management with Cornell University.

Roberts says she is delighted to be joining the Caravelle Hotel family. "Hotel Caravelle is one of islands most popular hotels- the location and room size makes it ideal for any type of traveler,” said Roberts, who will also be teaching “Intro to Hospitality” at the University of the Virgin Islands this Spring, “I'm excited to be a part of and continue the trendsetting success that the hotel has had for many years."

Roberts worked with hotel owner Sid Kalmans to sign a tour operator agreement that will bring in European guests in 2015 and has partnered the hotel with the USVI Department of Tourism for the FIND YOUR BLISS promotion that offers a $250 resort credit on five night stays.
