Hotel Phillips Selects Madeline Gallucci As New Artist In Residence
Kansas City, Mo (PRWEB) September 16, 2014 -- Hotel Phillips, a historic and prestigious boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, announced today that Madeline Gallucci will be the hotel’s new “Artist in Residence” beginning September 1, 2014.
Gallucci’s work explores, dissects, and reinterprets our everyday environment by means of vibrant drawings, whimsical paintings and digital prints. Since coming to Kansas City, she has traveled and performed with Whoop Dee Doo and shown her work at a wide variety of galleries and venues. Gallucci currently works at Kansas City Art Institute as the Campus Activities & Housing Coordinator, where she plans and coordinates events such as the annual Drag Show and Field Day celebrations.
Additionally, Gallucci was the winner of the Lester Goldman Drawing Competition in 2012, and was recently a guest on Artspeak Radio on KKFI.

To celebrate Gallucci’s residency, Hotel Phillips will celebrate her work at an event on October 23, 2014 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Art doesn’t necessarily need to be made behind closed doors. Artists are advocates, diplomats, creative leaders and problem solvers in today’s society.
