The grounds on which the Denver Hotel now stands was once Denver’s Tramway Building. Workers would collect nickels from passengers, and it is that legacy from which the chef and restaurateur, Jake Linzinmeir, culled the name for his newest venture.
Linzinmeir, who has worked at restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, Telluride, and other cities, will use inspiration from the many places that he has worked over the years when creating the menus for his Restaurant in Denver. In addition to being a chef, Linzinmeir is also a Certified Sommelier and has planned an impressive beverage program.
Colorado craft beers, barrel-aged spirits and carefully selected wines will be available at this restaurant in Denver. Special in-room menus and catering menus are also being developed for The Nickel, which is scheduled to open in July of 2014.
