Before launching House Doctors in October of 2007, Williams worked for John Deere Insurance Company and was the partner in a small contracting company. As that small company grew, he decided he wanted to focus his energies on growing the business. Williams parted ways with his partner, launched House Doctors and brought on his first House Doctors employee – Achillus “JR” Cawood, who has since become Williams business partner. Williams said a huge part of being the Franchise of the Year, and a profitable business overall, is thanks to JR.
“I honestly think the success and growth of House Doctors Somerset and London can be traced back to partnering with JR. He’s an employer’s dream and has done everything he can to grow this company. When I offered him 25 percent of the business, it was because he worked tirelessly to provide quality work and excellent customer service. It was like being auditioned for the role without knowing it and I know we wouldn’t be where we are today if not for JR,” Williams said.
In addition to the financial success of the company, Williams is also doing what he can to grow the House Doctors name nationwide. Being relatively close to the corporate office in Cincinnati, he often drives up to help with training and special projects.
“I am only a few hours away from the corporate office in Cincinnati, so I’m happy to drive up for training and special projects. I’m also always willing to be the guinea pig when they want to try something new. It’s all about growing the brand. If we can make every House Doctors franchise stronger, we can all grow together,” Williams said.
