Sheila McCann founder of House of Bread recalls signing her name to endorse her last paycheck as a public defender on November 1st eighteen years ago. "My hand was shaking so bad as it hit me, this is the last regular paycheck that I had to get out of the line at the bank to settle myself-now, eighteen years later, I celebrate the fact I overcame my fears of what if and followed my dream of owning my own bakery." Sheila looks back on the decision to quit her job and start own business as one of the best decisions she has ever made. "As a young attorney in the public defenders office, I wanted to help ensure poor people had good legal representation but the overwhelming negativity began to wear on my natural positive outlook and in one particular case, brought me to tears-and that's when I knew I had to do something different" states Sheila.
