On prom night, 53 percent of students will consume four or more alcoholic drinks, according to Statistic Brain, and 90 percent are more likely to drink and drive, according to a study by Liberty Mutual and Students Against Destructive Decisions.
Last year during prom season, from April 1, 2015 to May 31, 2015, Texas DPS responded with 1,095 alcohol-related arrests. During that time, more than 2,000 alcohol-related accidents were reported.
