How can Communications Service Providers make money from the IoT? ISPM shows how.
Sao Paulo, Brazil and London, UK (PRWEB UK) 26 November 2014 -- ISPM, a leading provider of service assurance and orchestration solutions, is going to share its expertise in the commercialisation of IoT and M2M services at TM Forum’s forthcoming Digital Disruption 2014 event, taking place Dec. 8th – 11th at the San Jose Convention Centre in San Jose, Calif.
With the title “Smart cities, smart cars, smart homes, smart networks – where is the money in the Internet of Things?” solution expert Washington Tavares will be exploring how Communications Service Providers (CSPs) can convert proof of concept and trial programmes into commercially viable and increasingly profitable services.
“The IoT represents a new way of doing things and it requires a different attitude to partnerships and business models,” said Mr Tavares. “Our experience in smart city initiatives such as Águas de São Pedro has shown, not only how CSPs have a leading role to play but also how they can convert growing interest in smart applications into revenue growth.” Mr Tavares will be delivering his talk on Thursday 11th.
ISPM has already delivered service orchestration and assurance solutions using its NetVision IoT solution for applications such as smart lighting, smart parking and eHealth. This expertise provides valuable lessons for CSPs and other stakeholders in smart city initiatives.
In particular, it is clear that interoperability between stakeholders is a key challenge in the full realisation of smart city and IoT projects. ISPM solves this challenge through the use of standard integration capabilities based on Frameworx from the TM Forum.
ISPM’s experts will also be sharing further practical insights on interoperability and smart cities in two additional sessions:
• “Building a smart city – delivering on the vision” (Wednesday 10th December)
• “Standardisation initiatives and approaches in the Internet of Things” (Wednesday 10th December)
“CSPs are increasingly investing in digital services to support the Internet of Things, requiring that they transform their businesses to cater to the complex and innovative nature of this new landscape. Best practices developed by TM Forum and its members help to accelerate such projects, relying on the experience and expertise of leaders like ISPM,” said Craig Bachmann, Senior Director, Open Digital Program, TM Forum.
The wealth of experience that ISPM has accumulated through active participation in standardisation, interoperability and deployed projects will be of great benefit to any CSP that is considering approaches to the IoT.
ISPM provides service orchestration and assurance solutions as well as technical support and maintenance for remote solutions used across the health and education sectors. In addition, ISPM is responsible for service level management of a range of services using its NetVision IoT platform, which consolidates the service assurance of digital services in a single portal.
CSPs interested in IoT and M2M applications, infrastructure and services are invited to meet ISPM at Digital Disruption 2014 or to correspond through the contact details below.
