Washington, DC (PRWEB) June 09, 2014 -- John Gordon, Director Business Development at The Home Depot, and Andrew Waite, Publisher of Personal Real Estate Investor Magazine, announced in a presentation late Thursday that The Home Depot RenoWalk® application can change business by combining traditional retail stores and supply chains, publishing content and advertising disciplines.
Gordon and Waite told the Specialized Information Publishers and Software & Information Industry Associations meeting in Washington, D.C., that this application can change the way they do business and dramatically grow their business.
Personal Real Estate Investor Magazine, publishing specific content about real estate investment, has attracted businesses with common goals of improving customer or investor experience, standards, convenience and incremental revenue. The Home Depot and its partners are transferring this investment management experience to mobile technology to help real estate investors thrive. Early returns from user experience and revenue from these applications exceed even the most conservative expectations.
The challenge for publishers is recognizing they are central to the specialized community for which they publish and that by bringing together content, business process and advertiser/sponsor relationships they can benefit their readers and subscribers as well as themselves.
Gordon shared how The Home Depot RenoWalk® application integrates real estate investment content and partners with investment property renovation skills. HomeVestors of America (The “We Buy Ugly Houses” people) and major institutions provided the RenoWalk app have already generated significant revenues to The Home Depot.
Waite explained how traditional publishing disciplines are relevant to finding investor reader needs, defining app goals, connecting subject matter experts from sponsors and advertisers and so renew relevance and the revenue models for publishers of niche-specific subjects.
Both Gordon and Waite showed how business-based processes, using mobile technology, allow The Home Depot to begin to virtualize its stores by putting “a personalized store” in every investor’s pocket, and thereby increase sales per store.
Initially the RenoWalk application is free to Home Depot National Accounts and available through The Home Depot Pro Services.
RenoWalk has become the foundation of a number of derivative apps, customized for use by HomeVestors, National Tenant Network, Own America and a national investor lender.
