How to Build Cattle Pens that Last 100 Years
(PRWEB) February 18, 2015 -- That is the claim made by GoBob Pipe & Steel about the newly introduced continuous fence panel product dubbed “Monster Fence.” “Monster Fence panels were designed for the cattle producer or sale barn operator who never wants to have to repair or replace any sections of their pens,” says Bob Studebaker, owner of GoBob. “By utilizing a new pipe product we have been able to capture, we are able to provide a continuous fence panel that is twice as heavy and several times stronger than conventional fence panels made from without a big increase in cost.”
GoBob’s Monster Fence panels are fabricated using four 20 foot sections of 2”OD .190 wall thickness pipe with a minimum yield strength of 55,000 lbs. These rails are reinforced with four vertical stays consisting of 2” x ¼” flat bar with a minimum yield of 36,000 lbs. Six inch long connectors are cut from 2 3/8”OD Schedule 40 pipe.
“We are able to get away with using only four rails by graduating the spacing,” explains Studebaker. The rails are closer together near the bottom of the panels where young cattle will encounter the fence and further apart at the top of the panel where older larger cattle come in contact. A top rail is not required in most applications but can easily be adapted if a higher fence is required.” Monster Fence panels will have an average weight of 328 lbs. per panel.
“We have learned over the years the best way to introduce a new product is to sell it cheap initially to get people using it and talking about it,” says Studebaker. “Therefore we have put introductory prices in effect at almost a break even cost, but it will be worth it to give our customers an opportunity to try it.” Note that Gobob Pipe and Steel has a policy offering new products and notice of sales to their “Preferred Club” members before they are offered to the general public. Preferred Club members consist of GoBob’s existing customers and potential customers interested enough to go to GoBob.com and register. “Stocking up on corral materials in the winter while the demand and prices are lower is just smart business,” comments Studebaker.
