Howard C. Kornberg on Committee to Revise Rules of Conduct for California State Bar
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) February 22, 2015 -- The California State Bar has asked attorney Howard C. Kornberg to serve on their committee. This committee is in charge of reviewing and revising the rules that govern the way lawyers interact with their clients. Mr. Kornberg has stated that it is an honor that the committee has selected him for this position. The California State Bar is unique in the nation in that it does not look to the professional conduct rules of the American Bar Association for guidance.
Joining Mr. Kornberg are 15 other respected attorneys from California and together, with Mr. Kornberg, they will make up the committee. Six advisers will provide input and advice to the committee, but they will not be voting. Three of these advisers have already served in a similar capacity in the past on ethical standards commissions, which were tasked with revising current ethical standards.
It was because of Mr. Kornberg's reputation for the highest quality of professional conduct as well as the respect shown by the other members of the state bar that he was chosen to sit on this state bar commission. Since 1997, he has held the title of AV Pre-eminent Trial Attorney. This distinction is one that is handed out by Martindale and Hubbel, an attorney ratings organization. Fewer than 1% of all attorneys are given this title.
Mr. Kornberg was admitted to the California State Bar in 1979. Since that time, he has focused on individual and consumer group protection, particularly against damage perpetrated by insurance companies and large corporations. Officially, he has won 99% of his cases on behalf of these clients. This has given his clients both financial security and peace of mind. Alongside his professional work, he has gained popularity in his community for his charity work with several non-profits and other charities in his community.
