HPI Named as Cyber Security Consultant to City of Lansing's Board of Water and Light
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) April 22, 2015 -- Rotating equipment solutions provider, HPI, has been selected by the City of Lansing’s Board of Water and Light (LBWL) to serve as the NERC-CIP Cyber Security Consultant. Under the terms of the contract, HPI will review and verify approach methodology to LBWL’s compliance program involving network security, change control and procedural controls that derive from the mandatory requirements for security enforced by the North American Electric Reliability Organization (NERC).
A Request for Proposal was released by the Board in late December 2014 and awarded in March of this year. HPI may also be called on to review the physical security of the Board’s power generation facilities as well as the authoring of white papers and position papers for use by staff for executive presentations.
“The City of Lansing has been in the forefront of municipal compliance with NERC CIP standards and we are delighted that the Board of Water and Light selected HPI to continue their practice of compliance leadership,” said John Ballentine, HPI’s Director of Cyber Security and Compliance.
“We are excited by this opportunity to work with BWL to create a state-of-the-art program that remains focused on providing reliable power generation to its customers.”
