HPI's John Ballentine to Speak at CTOTF 40th Annual Spring Conference
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) February 26, 2015 -- Turbomachinery services and solutions provider, HPI, announced today that Director of Cyber Security and Compliance, John Ballentine, will moderate the NERC and FERC roundtables during the Combustion Turbine Operator’s Technical Forum (CTOTF) on April 14, 2015.
CTOTF is a membership organization of combustion turbine owners/operators, and is the premier forum for the exchange of information and experiences related to the design, operations and maintenance of combustion turbine and combined cycle power plants. The organization hosts bi-annual conferences, one in the Spring, and another in the Fall, with an array of roundtable discussions for its members to express issues and concerns to the combustion turbine industry.
Located at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort in Fort Myers, Florida, NERC/FERC roundtable topics to be discussed at the 2015 Spring Conference include:
• NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection Version 5 (CIP5)
• The NERC Reliability Assurance Initiative (RAI)
• FERC/NERC Regional “Super Audits”
• Risk-Based Registration and Compliance Program Development
Ballentine is excited about the opportunity to lead the discussion.
“I look forward to addressing these urgent and complex issues for the CTOTF membership. FERC and NERC compliance costs have doubled in the last two years and are expected to triple over the next 24 months to average over $100,000 per plant and higher,” he says.
“Conference delegates will take away a deeper understanding of what their compliance and regulatory risks are, and how to address them.”
This is just the latest in a series of speaking engagements for Ballentine, who will also serve as moderator for a discussion on “Transmission Planning in an Energy Only Market” at the upcoming ERCOT Market Summit on Friday, February 27 in Austin, Texas.
