HSMAI Honors Arizona Chapter as HSMAI Chapter of the Year
(PRWEB) September 15, 2016 -- The HSMAI Arizona Chapter was named Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International 2015-2016 Chapter of the Year at HSMAI’s annual Mike Leven Leadership Conference in Boca Raton. The Chapter of the Year winner and the "Chapter Best of the Best" award recipients were honored at the conference.
“Our chapters continue to develop innovative programs and events that improve revenue performance for member hotels and their partners,” said Fran Brasseux, HSMAI executive vice president. “We are proud to honor these talented chapters for their outstanding work.”
At the Leadership Conference, HSMAI recognized chapters in the Americas Region for leadership, development, educational programming, and community involvement. This year’s Frank W. Berkman Best of the Best winners are:

Conference highlights included “deep dives” into critical topics such as volunteering, partnerships, recruiting, and profitability. The conference kicked off with an executive interview with conference benefactor Mike Leven, CEO, Georgia Aquarium & Former President and Chief Operating Officer, Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Attendees were treated to an insightful discussion of how the hospitality industry can better attract and retain graduates by Peter Ricci, Director, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Florida Atlantic University, and Dean Mike Hampton, Florida International University. As part of the HSMAI Helps service program, attendees built 750 Clean the World hygiene kits to send to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to help those in need in flooded areas in shelters and relief efforts.
The conference was renamed the HSMAI Mike Leven Leadership Conference following a generous donation from the Mike and Andrea Leven Foundation in 2013. This year leaders came together at the Boca Raton Resort & Club on September 7 - 8.
