Hubbardton Forge Wins 2013 Pinnacle Award for Design Achievement in Lighting
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- This is the ninth Pinnacle Award win for Hubbardton Forge and the designers at Hubbardton Forge are thrilled.
“The Design Team would like to thank the judges for selecting Hubbardton Forge and to our extended family of dealers and reps who are spreading our message, our story, out to the country every day,” David Kitts, Director of Design for Hubbardton Forge, said. “It really is a team effort that allows us to bring a truly special product to the market.”
The Cavaletti collection was up against two other finalists: the East Village collection by Quoizel Lighting and the Grand Tour Lamp by Century Furniture, but the Cavaletti collection pulled through with the win.
According to hubbardtonforge.com, the winning collection “features a graphic composition of dynamically tapered, forged elements.” The designers created a vibrant new silhouette with a simple, rectangular fabric shade that develops the simple lines of the collection. The Cavaletti family includes a linear pendant, table lamp, floor lamp and wall sconce that are all ADA compliant and are offered in a range of finish and shade options.
The Pinnacle Awards were created in April 1995 by the ASFD board of directors to support design excellence and elevate the recognition of furniture designers within the retail home furnishings industry.
According to asfd.com, submissions are open to all furniture designers and manufacturers and the Pinnacle Award judging is done by a jury of 12 industry professionals based on this criteria:
• Form and Function
• Innovation
• Retailer & Manufacturer Benefit
• Consumer Benefit
The winners are announced at the Fall High Point Market and are “intended to celebrate designs that are produced in large numbers for sale to consumers through retail stores.”
