HUMAN Healthy Vending Ranks on Empact Showcase’s “Empact100” List of Best Companies Started and Run by Young Entrepreneurs
Los Angeles, Calif. (PRWEB) October 31, 2013 -- HUMAN Healthy Vending announces that it has ranked on the “2013 Empact Showcase” by Empact, an organization that focuses on creating cultures of entrepreneurship in communities around the world.
Now in its third year, the Empact Showcase recognized HUMAN Healthy Vending as being among the United States’ “Best Companies Started & Run by Young Entrepreneurs.”
Showcasing the company’s revenue growth and social impact, HUMAN Healthy Vending ranked on Empact’s “Empact100 Showcase" honoring top entrepreneurs and was a finalist in the categories “Most Disruptive” and “Largest Potential.” The criteria for selection include company revenue, number of employees, social impact, growth over the past year, and dedication to innovation.
“We are incredibly proud to rank on the Empact100 list alongside other young entrepreneurs who are transforming their industries,” said Sean Kelly, CEO and Co-Founder of HUMAN Healthy Vending. “For the past five years, I've seen the positive impact entrepreneurs can have by solving social problems through the power of business.”
One of the shared traits of Empact100 companies is that their founders give back to their communities by educating others on entrepreneurship. In fact, 61% of Empact100 companies’ founders spent over 50 hours giving back to the field of entrepreneurship education in 2012. HUMAN Healthy Vending has dedicated countless hours to creating young entrepreneurs in the underserved schools of Los Angeles through its Young Entrepreneur’s Program, which teaches a select group of students how to run their own healthy vending business.
The Empact Showcase is a compilation of companies in the United States started by entrepreneurs who are age 35 and under and whose annual revenues or operating budgets (for non-profits) are more than $100,000. In 2012, the companies comprising the Empact Showcase contributed more than 8,500 jobs to the economy and controlled over $1.3 billion in revenue.
Founders in the Empact Showcase were recently recognized for their achievements at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
The host of the 2013 Empact Showcase is the United Nations Foundation. American Airlines is the official airline and Entrepreneur Media is the official media partner.
“The annual Empact Showcase is both a testament to the impact that entrepreneurs are making on our economy and an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs,” said Sarah Green, Co-Founder, Empact Showcase. “We are proud of all of the entrepreneurs on the 2013 Empact Showcase and pleased to support them by celebrating the spirit, dedication and hard work that has made them successful entrepreneurs.”
