Human Options Promotes Maricela Rios-Faust as New Chief Executive Officer
Irvine, California (PRWEB) January 19, 2016 -- Human Options, a nonprofit social services organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence, announced today that Maricela Rios-Faust has been named its new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 1, 2016. Rios-Faust’s appointment follows the planned retirement of founding CEO, Vivian Clecak. The selection was made after a comprehensive national search conducted by the Board of Directors with assistance from transition consulting partner, CompassPoint.
“We are excited to elevate Maricela to this top leadership position at Human Options. Through the search process, Maricela rose above other candidates in terms of her passion for our work, industry knowledge and the respect she commands as a leader in domestic violence prevention and treatment,” said Nancy Dahan, Human Options Board President. “Maricela brings strong strategic leadership, nonprofit management and fundraising skills and we are delighted that she will be our leader for the next generation.”
Rios-Faust has more than 20 years of social services experience in Southern California and holds a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She’s held the position of Associate Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer since 2007 at Human Options and also serves as Board President of the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence.
“I came to Human Options almost ten years ago hoping to make an impact in the community. I am now thrilled to be the leader of this life-changing organization and in a position to continue our mission of ending the cycle of domestic violence in meaningful and innovative ways,” said Rios-Faust.
Retiring founding CEO Vivian Clecak also commented, “Maricela is an outstanding choice for the future of Human Options. Her intelligence, deep commitment to our mission, strategic thinking, facilitative leadership style and unique ability to define and build collaborations are powerful components for leadership. She thrives on challenge and honors all with whom she partners.”
Human Options will celebrate and honor Clecak’s retirement at its Serious Fun Fundraising Gala on May 14, 2016 at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, Calif.
