Mr. Shegda has been employed as a law clerk with the firm since 2012. He currently assists with client intakes, preparing legal documents, and conducting research for client cases. Mr. Shegda attended Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California and took the bar exam in July of 2013 and the official results were reported on November 22, 2013.
According to The State Bar of California's Committee of Bar Examiners the exam is given twice per year, in February and July. For July 2013 approximately 8,900 applicants sat for the exam. Of those, 55.8 percent of applicants passed the exam. Additionally the average score in California was 1,459 as compared to the national average of 1,443.
The General Bar Examination is a three day event that includes multiple choice questions, six essay questions, and performance tests. In addition to the general exam, applicants must also pass the First Year Law Students Examination and the Multi-State Professional Responsibility Examination. Finally, candidates undergo a background check to receive a positive moral character determination.
